Teach For America

In America today, educational inequity persists along socioeconomic and racial lines. Nine-year-olds growing up in low-income communities are already three grade levels behind their peers in high-income communities.

Half of them won't graduate from high school.
Those who do graduate will, on average, read and do math at the level of eighth graders in high-income communities

Educational inequity is our nation's greatest injustice. Yet, it can be solved.

Each day, in communities across the country, Teach For America sees that when children facing the challenges of poverty are given the educational opportunities they deserve, they excel.

Teach For America has a network of more than 17,000 members. Today some 5,000 corps members are leading classrooms across the country while more than 12,000 alumni are effecting broader changes to help close the achievement gap.

Nearly 3 million students have been impacted by Teach For America over the years. All academic majors and career backgrounds accepted. Full salary and benefits.
