NSCS is proud to present the Integrity Scholarship which is awarded to five (5) NSCS members who have demonstrated commitment to integrity. Each of the $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the five members who have demonstrated a true commitment to integrity through a series of short answer questions describing a time when their integrity has been challenged.

2010 Integrity Scholarship Recipients
Janelly Muriel-Sanoguet, University of Puerto Rico

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 20, 1988. I am currently studying at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. I have always participated during my childhood as an altar girl at Parroquia María Madre de mi Señor. Currently, I’m a member of the NSCS since 2007 and of the Golden Key Society since 2008. I’m finishing my bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology and a minor in anthropology. My goal for the future soon to come is to get my Ph.D. in clinical psychology, which I will be starting hopefully on fall 2010. My long term goals are working with eating disorders and hopefully opening a specialized clinic for these disorders in Puerto Rico.I like travelling around the island to places of interest, going to the beach, reading, hanging out with my friends, cooking and watching Tim Burton’s art and movies. I like hearing music, specially, rock and Latin music. I too share a passion for writing and drawing and making a painting once in a while.
Andrew Nackashi, University of Central Florida

Andrew Nackashi is a senior in the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, majoring in molecular and microbiology. He works as a teacher’s assistant in the anatomy lab and has been very active in the university’s Junior Achievement program. Andrew’s goal is to become a physician and hopes to enter medical school in the Fall.
Alexandra Shue, University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Alexandra Shue is a student at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, who will be graduating in May of 2011 with a B.S. in Psychology and double minors in both Sociology and Interdisciplinary Health Studies. Originally from Huntersville, North Carolina, Alexandra is the President of the UNCC chapter of NSCS, President of the Student Alumni Ambassadors, and a member of the University Honors Program. She also particpates in intramural basketball, is an active member in Niner Nation gold, and is actively involved with on and off campus volunteer work. After graduating from UNCC, Alexandra hopes to attend graduate school in order to recieve her doctorate degree in cinical health psychology.
Noaa Spiekermann, University of Virginia

I was born in Reading, PA, and have lived in Charlottesville, VA since I was a year old. I am now a second year Echols Scholar at UVA and am still undecided about a major but am interested in studio art, biology, environmental science, and anthropology. I enjoy playing soccer, drawing and painting, snowboarding, traveling, being outside, and spending time with my family and friends
Alice Dombrowski, The University of Oklahoma

My name is Alice Dombrowski, and I am a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma. I am pursuing a double major in Accounting and Finance with a Spanish minor. Being an avid Sooner fan, I attend every football game. I enjoy working as a University Ambassador, where I am able to share my enthusiasm for Oklahoma with prospective students. Additionally, I am involved in a variety of student organizations, including Campus Activities Council, Game Day Assistants, Emerging Leaders, and several honor societies. This year I was accepted into the JCPenney Leadership Program, which recognizes top achieving business students. Lastly, I am a member of Alpha Phi sorority, where I am the VP of Chapter Operations. I have enjoyed my time at the University of Oklahoma, and I am honored to have received the 2010 Integrity Scholarship.

I grew up in Marin County, California, and attended high school at St. Ignatius in San Francisco. I have always been an avid lover of the outdoors, travel, and competitive sports. I was a member of the women's varsity crew team for all four years at UC Berkeley. After graduation I spent nine weeks volunteering at a Hospital in Santa Ana, El Salvador. I am currently working as a medical assistant for a small family practice in Reston, Virginia. This coming fall I look forward to starting my first year as a medical student at UCLA.
Lauren Hunt from Rice University (2007 recipient)Lauren Hunt is a student at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she will graduate in January 2009 with a B.A. in English and Policy Studies. Originally from Fort, Worth, Texas, Lauren is the President of the Rice Chapter of NSCS and an ombudsman for the university's Honor Council. She was also captain of the Rice Cheerleading squad for the 2007-2008 year. After graduating from Rice, Lauren hopes to pursue her law degree at a school in the Northeast.
Jozef Zelenak from The University of Kansas (2007 recipient)I was born in Slovakia, former Czechoslovakia. As a child I immigrated to Canada and now live in the United States of America. As a child I lived with my parents in Zambia, Africa and saw many people who were in need of healthcare but couldn't afford it. That's when I decided that I want to be a physician someday and help people. I've been admitted to The University of Kansas Medical School for Fall 2008 and will finally be pursuing my dream. In my spare time I enjoy playing chess and attend a public-speaking and leadership club called Toastmasters.
