“This is the best feeling ever!!!! Receiving the Induction Recognition Award is going to help me out tremendously with my tuition costs and will help me get ahead on my education. I am so proud to be a member of something so grand and wonderful. The help and support I receive from The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is greatly appreciated!” Ashley Lopez, Houston Community College
“This award is not only helping my parents pay for my education, but also representative of my future in NSCS.  I hope to use the society to network and work together to better the community and each other.“ Marissa Wiener, The George Washington University
“A special thanks to the National Society of College Scholars (NSCS). I am absolutely honored to be the recipient of this year’s (2012) Induction Recognition Award. I feel auspicious and blessed to be chosen as a winner amongst all of the other talented competitors.  Being awarded this scholarship means I am now one step closer to financing my education and being able to achieve my lifelong dreams.  As a straight “a” student, it is nice to be recognized for my hard work and accomplishments.  While I am satisfied with my current accomplishments, I am looking forward to all that I will conquer in the near and far future.  This award says that my hard work is appreciated and so I will continue to make both myself, society (NSCS) and school (South University) proud.  Thank you!” Elisabeth Jackman Knights, South University
“It is truly an honor to be awarded the 2012 Induction Recognition Award! This award is very meaningful to me and it shows the society’s generosity and consideration for its members. With generous financial assistance like this, I can worry less about my tuition costs and more on my college experience, my community, and my studies. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is a fantastic organization, of which I am proud to be a member.” Andrés Bernardo, University of Florida
“I would like to extend the sincerest thanks to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for selecting me as a recipient of the Induction Recognition Award. This scholarship will help support my ecological studies both at home and abroad, allowing me to continue my college education with a lesser financial burden.  As I near the end of my undergraduate career and the prospect of graduate school becomes more discernible, every dollar toward my academic experience seems heavier, so this scholarship provides me with the chance to embrace my final year with motivation and greater peace of mind. I am honored and privileged to be a member of this society and am genuinely grateful for the opportunities NSCS provides for so many students like me. In my journey to become an ecologist and pursue research and conservation around the world, I will be forever thankful for NSCS’s generosity.” Ruchi Patel, Rutgers University
“NSCS has certainly already begun an important presence in my academic career, and this scholarship marks this beginning. I am certainly very excited to become a part of such an active and important group on campus. To develop leadership, skills in service, and character are things that I think college is meant for, besides academics. For this reason, NSCS is an integral part of my involvement; it encompasses these ideas and moves them forward into action.  I look forward to all the new experiences that I am sure are coming my way through this amazing student organization!” Katherine Peinhardt, University of Connecticut
“I am extremely proud to call myself an NSCS member and it is a great honor to have received this prestigious scholarship. The Induction Recognition Award has lightened my financial burden, which enables me to focus on my studies as a Pharmacological Chemistry major and continue to give back to my community. I will always be grateful to NSCS for selecting me as a recipient of this generous award and will continue to strive to advance the pillars of this organization through scholarship, leadership, and service.” Lindsay Henderson, University of California, San Diego
“When I first received the email in my inbox claiming that I had received a scholarship from NSCS, I had to read it over and over again to make sure that it was real. I had heard of the many scholarships that NSCS offers, but I nevertheless was taken aback when I saw that I was going to be one of the Induction Recognition Scholarship Recipients!  The money that I will gain from my scholarship is much needed seeing as I will be heading off to nursing school next semester. Besides the obvious bonus the money brings, I feel even more confident now in myself and look forward to participating even more through NSCS. I can recommend anyone and everyone to try to get active in this organization because you never know what you might gain! Thank you NSCS!”- Rachel Irving, University of West Georgia
“I feel so honored to have received this generous scholarship from NSCS.  I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to become involved with this organization and make a difference within my university and the community as well.  By receiving this award I am now even more motivated to pass on the word of integrity to my peers, and help other students become members of this society.  NSCS has an incredible amount of opportunities and benefits to offer to its members, and I hope that other students are inspired and take advantage of all that is presented through this wonderful organization, for it has helped me toward becoming the person I strive to be.” –Carissa Gwerder, Northern Arizona University
“Receiving the 2012 Induction Recognition Scholarship means so much to me! As a college student surviving on student loans, this scholarship will help me graduate with a little less student debt on my hands. This scholarship not only will help me financially, but also motivates me to continue the hard work I have put into school that originally contributed to my acceptance into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. With this scholarship, I can continue on to graduate school after I graduate next year, knowing there will be just a little less financial burden.  Hopefully, after I finish my masters in Urban Planning, having a little less financial burden will help me focus on my goal of promoting sustainable development in developing countries and domestically. Thank you, NSCS!” –Cassidy Mutnansky, Florida State University
“I would like to thank those who awarded this scholarship to me from NSCS to help further my educational career. This money awarded provides me with financial help to pay for my college in the upcoming year, and for that I am very gracious. We all know that paying for college provides hardships for many, and by receiving a scholarship, some of the stress is lifted from our chest. To me, this scholarship means that the recognition of military service is spreading rapidly, which again I would like to say thank you. There are many deserving veterans, and future service members out there who should be given the upmost gratitude for everything they do. Without them who knows where we would be today. Once again thank you for this opportunity.” –Angela Dauge, College of Staten Island
“I am so pleased to have been selected as a recipient of the 2012 Induction Recognition Award. I am honored to receive an award from a program like The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. “It is an honor to be part of a society like NSCS and to receive such a generous award!  Thanks to NSCS and all its hardworking members making a difference in their communities, and putting the principles of NSCS into action." –Matthew Lawson, Michigan State University
“This scholarship means so much to me because as a Biology major my course work is strenuous which leaves me no time to get a job. I was raised by a single parent and my mother’s situation back home makes it impossible for her to send me money to go towards books or living expenses while attending Howard University. Most of my time throughout the semester I am financially unstable and this scholarship will enable me to have some financial stability throughout the school year. I was also accepted into the Amgen Scholars Program where I will be conducting medical research for the summer at Stamford University in California. I was worried about how I would manage my living expenses but now that I was blessed with this scholarship I no longer have to worry about it.  Coming from an underserved community I didn’t have the resources or support that other kids had growing up and I am grateful to receive that support and encouragement within the National Society of collegiate Scholars.” –Syreeta Crawford, Howard University
“This scholarship allows me to continue on an expensive and long academic journey. I am currently double majoring in journalism and sociology and hope to use these majors to guide me towards law school and a career in a law-related field. Given how much schooling (and money) that requires, I deeply appreciate the recognition NSCS has given me and their contribution to help me carry out my academic and life goals. “ –Ashley Goedken, Boston University
“This scholarship is a great opportunity for me. I feel a part of NSCS more than ever now and I am beginning to see the effects of my hard work, which only pushes me further. Since I am studying art and language, this will allow me to reach out to more opportunities that I would have never been able to accomplish without the aid of this scholarship! I can travel, take more classes, and experience more.” –Caitlin LeMoine, Kennesaw State University
“I am honored and privileged to have received the Induction Recognition Award Scholarship and so glad that I applied. I am already seeing what an amazing impact NSCS is making on my college career as well as the several, incredible opportunities that this organization offers to its members. This scholarship will definitely go towards helping me finance my education here at Western Washington University. I cannot thank NSCS enough and am extremely excited to see what else NSCS has in store for me!” –Morgan Gamboa, Western Washington University
“A picture is worth a thousand words and the smile in my picture describes exactly what this scholarship means to me. I am really happy that I was selected to receive this scholarship because it lets me know that there are many opportunities to receive that will help fund my education. So there is no need to worry about funding my education since scholarships are available from NSCS.” –Claire Wray, University of Maryland

“I'm very honored to have been selected as a recipient for the Induction Recognition Scholarship. With the ever-increasing cost for a college education, receiving this award helps me to continue my pursuit of a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is to be commended for its generosity. The benefits of membership in NSCS are already evident to me, and I am looking forward to more participation with this organization in the future. Winning this scholarship means the world to me!  Thank you so much for selecting me to receive such an award.” –Monica Corbett, Miami University
“It means so much to me to be named a recipient of the NSCS Induction Recognition Award.  Being recognized in such a way truly makes me feel that NSCS wants me to succeed in my education and is willing to invest in my potential and my future.  This scholarship makes me feel even more a part of the NSCS community, whose dedication to academics and leadership matches my own.  I am extraordinarily proud and genuinely honored to be a recipient and to be given the chance to represent my local chapter of NSCS and the organization as a whole.” –Jacquelyn Mohan, University of South Carolina

“Sometimes, I feel like the world would be a better place if we were all a little more passionate about whatever and whoever it is that we love.  All too often, we worry more about what we should do instead of what we want to do.  We find ourselves signing up for extracurricular activities to have another line on a resume, taking a job because it pays more, or pursuing a career because it’s the path our parents have always wanted us to take.  I think we all feel pressure to “be” somebody every now and then, so at least for me, when I find something I really love and do totally and completely for myself, I stick with it—and NSCS is one of those things.  I believe in the mission of NSCS, and I am proud to serve as a member of the executive board.  It’s a group that has power radiating from its fingertips because there are so many talented, invested members.  So, to me, receiving this scholarship is not only an honor that I am proud to receive, it’s also a little sign from the world telling me to keep doing what I love (as cliché as that sounds).  It is an honor to be a part of something so real and worthwhile, and a scholarship is the cherry on top of a life-size sundae.  Thank you.” –Annie Connor, Truman State University

“For me, winning the Induction Recognition Award and scholarship is a way to say thank you to my parents for paying for me to go to college. It’s not easy coming up with money for four years of tuition and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to contribute through this scholarship. It’s nice to know that hard work pays off, and I would like to say a very special thank you to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well for helping to fund my college career. “ –Louisa Steele,  College of Charleston

"What I love about NSCS is that it supports students by giving them an environment to engage with other scholars. I was so pleased when meeting other members at the induction ceremony and am looking forward to getting to know the organization even better!" –Kausar Mohammed, University of California, Los Angeles

“When I found out I had received the Induction Award, I was thrilled! With this award, NSCS is helping me achieve one of my most challenging life goals- to graduate from college free of debt. I cannot fully express how grateful I am to NSCS for this scholarship. Thank you for all your support!” Kayla Eddins, The University of Kansas
“The Induction Recognition Award represents more than just funding for college to me; rather it signifies that someone sees outstanding potential in me. I view my dreams and goals as important and receiving this scholarship implies that to NSCS they are worth investing in. To the NSCS organization and all the committee members who included me within the selected recipients list, thank you! The Induction Recognition Award is a blessing especially during this time of high tuition; this scholarship could not have come at a more opportune time. I thank God for placing me as an outstanding candidate in the eyes of the scholarship committee. With the aid of this scholarship, I will continue another year at Baylor University and pursue my academic and community endeavors. The Induction Recognition Award shows that NSCS supports me and others and trusts that we will make a difference in the world. I plan to continue to take on this challenge with my leadership, academic and service opportunities, as I stand on the three core values of NSCS. Thank you once again – I greatly appreciate your gift of support!” -Stacia Verrett, Baylor University
"This scholarship really means a lot to me.  It shows to me that there are people who have faith in me, my studies and the work that I do in school trough classes and in the community through the groups that I am a member of.  It is an extreme motivator for me to keep up my hard work and studies.  It is also motivation for me to contribute more to my school’s chapter of NSCS.  So far this community has provided me with a new opportunity in the form of their trust and funding, and since I have reaped such rewards, I feel it is my duty to pay it forward and become a more active member of my chapter by working harder to raise awareness for the group, as well as the charities and fundraisers they support on campus and in the community.  It means so much that NSCS sees the value in education and is as invested in it as I am." –Erin Hayes, University of Rochester
“Receiving the 2012 NSCS Induction Recognition Award means that my family and I will be able to take out fewer loans next semester.
