Apply for the Ellen and Derek van Bever Award:

The successful student will need to initiate a challenge to his or her campus, community or the world as a whole to make a difference that has the potential to continue to grow well beyond the present moment.  Applicants will start by identifying their specific challenge, demonstrating their ability to accomplish it and then inspiring others to join with them  throughout the duration of the application period.  A challenge should be a call to your fellow NSCS members, campus friends and community families to join forces and make a small difference in the world.  If done correctly, these small differences can make a widespread impact that inspires others to “pay it forward.”  You should be able to track the impact your challenge has on others and how widespread your impact has been felt.

Please note that the selection processes will evaluate each applicant on the following criteria: creativity, impact, and ability to inspire others in the movement. Please submit an application so we can follow you in your pursuit as well as evaluate you upon closing of the scholarship period.  Your application must be turned in no later than March 12, 2012, but you may continue to promote your project through April 16, 2012. The earlier you get started ,the longer you will have to promote your challenge.  Members must sign in to download the application.
