NSCS Partners With GW To Provide Transfer Scholarships To Community College Members

September 19, 2011- Washington, D.C.-The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) has partnered with The George Washington University (GW) to offer up to $20,000 in scholarships for NSCS community college members who are transferring to GW.

“GW is proud to support NSCS community college members and we look forward to welcoming them to GW and especially helping to make their transition easier through involvement with our chapter.” said Peter Konwerski, GW Dean of Students and Senior Associate Vice President who also serves as the NSCS Chapter Advisor at GW.

Scholarships are available to eligible NSCS members transferring from a community college with an NSCS chapter to The George Washington University. Applicants must be accepted as a transfer student on a full-time basis and have a 3.6 GPA to meet the criteria for the scholarship.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars was established 17 years ago at The George Washington University by CEO & Founder, Steve Loflin, former GW Director of Student Activities. The first NSCS member induction ceremony was held at GW on April 30, 1994.

“We are delighted to partner with The George Washington University to offer this scholarship to outstanding NSCS members who will go on to further their academic careers at GW,” said Steve Loflin, CEO & Founder of NSCS. “It is especially exciting to work with GW to offer this scholarship because this is where NSCS began, so it’s fitting that this newest member benefit begins with GW.”
