How Can You Tell if an Honor Society is Legitimate?

Successful scholars receive invitations from many organizations claiming to be prestigious honor societies. But how can you tell which ones are legitimately helpful to their members and which ones are just out for your money? Legitimate societies tend to be officially accredited as such and have non-profit status; scam societies do not meet these qualifications.

NSCS is accredited with the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), the nation’s only certifying agency for college and university honor societies.
