Scholar of the Week

Kimberly L Coleman

Date Recognized: March 22, 2010

Kimberly Coleman is a psychology and deaf studies major at Towson University.

Outside of class, Kimberly said her three most enjoyable activities are spending time with family and friends, participating on the Equestrian team, and spending time in the communities of the deaf and hearing impaired.

Kimberly enjoys watching movies and shopping with her family, while stepping out of her comfort zone and testing her different abilities on the Equestrian team. In spending time in deaf and hearing impaired communities, Kimberly enjoys meeting new people. She also works to improve her American Sign Language skills in the communities.

Because of her desire to help others, Kimberly wants to become a clinical psychologist and aim her practice towards deaf clients. Her goal is to become fluent in American Sign Language skills so she can easily communicate with deaf clients and provide direct communication and mental health services.

Kimberly believes in cherishing every moment in life. She said she learns from each wrong decision she makes and tries to benefit and grow for the right ones.
