Distinguished Scholars

Get hands-on experience in the field of your choice when you become an NSCS Distinguished Scholar.

In partnership with The Fund for American Studies, NSCS places members in summer or semester-long programs that combine academics with real-world experience.

As a Distinguished Scholar you will take classes in your major at Georgetown University while you intern at an organization that advances your professional aspirations.

Here are some of the features of this program:

  • Internships – Guaranteed competitive placements with government agencies, associations or nonprofits in Washington, D.C.
  • Classes – Up to 12 transferable credit hours from Georgetown University
  • Housing – Furnished apartments in the heart of Washington, D.C.
  • Guest Lectures – With Washington’s top policy and industry experts
  • Exclusive Briefings – At the U.S. House of Representatives, the White House Complex and the State Department
  • Leadership & Professional Development – Leadership, mentoring and career building activities
  • Networking – Interaction with hundreds of other student leaders from around the world
  • Scholarships-over half of students receive partial funding based on financial need and merit

Fall and Spring Semesters

  • Spring 2010: January 13 - May 1, 2010
  • Fall 2010: August 28 - December 11, 2010

Scholarships

NSCS members are eligible to apply for scholarship funding from The Fund for American Studies. Awards are given based on financial need and merit.

 

Exclusively for NSCS Members:

NSCS Members get a 5 percent discount on their tuition balance.
