Community College Transition Award

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars will award $5,000 to one outstanding community college student who is transferring into a 4-year institution.The scholarship is only available to students attending one of these schools (Hillsborough Community College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Northern Virginia Community College, Houston Community College, Lone Star College System, or San Jacinto College)

Eligibility

• Must have a profile on www.koda.us/nscs. Your Koda Profile must be at least 80% completed. (This is indicated on the koda.us website)
• Must be a student of one of these schools (Hillsborough Community College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Northern Virginia Community College or San Jacinto College) 
• Must have a 3.6 G.P.A
• Must be attending an accredited university
• Please note, all scholarships are disbursed directly to your school

Application Opens: May 10, 2010
Application Closes: July 10, 2010
Notification Date: September 2010

Recommendation Letter FAQ

• All recommendation letters must be emailed to transitionawards [at] nscs [dot] org. no later than July 10, 2010
• All recommendations should be emailed to transitionawards [at] nscs [dot] org. by July 10, 2010, with Subject line "Recommender's name for student's name" For Example “ Cynthia Uguru for Kayla Manning"
  
• Please do not fax the  letter of recommendation. Recommendation letters faxed will not be accepted.
• Please do not mail your letter of recommendation. Recommendation letters sent via postal mail will not be accepted
• Your recommendation letter should include recommender's email address, phone number, title, and signature.
• Only recommendation letter and paper application should be sent to transitionawards [at] nscs [dot] org.. Please send scholarship questions and issues to scholarships [at] nscs [dot] org.
