•Please submit a four page proposal plan (detailed below)
•Please submit a letter of reference/support from a person who has decided to act as a mentor and guide through this process. The letter should be from someone who is familiar with project and should describe why they believe that you (the applicant) are capable of seeing the project through.
Your Proposal Plan
•Must be no longer than four pages and must include the following information in the exact order specified:
•Page one should include:
oSummary of the problem you are addressing / why is there a need?
oWho is your target audience
oWhat is the benefit to your audience
•Page two should include:
oYour objective and goals / How will you measure your success?
oHow you plan on meeting the objective and goals
oYour overall strategic plan and tactics
•Page three should have details of the project duration May 5 – June 30
oA detailed timeline of everything you will be doing
oDates of your deliverables/milestones
oStart and finish dates
•Page four should state your $1,000 budget
oA detailed budget which included descriptions of each category
oAny planning cost which is included as part of the project must be incurred during the period of the project.
oNo pre-award costs are allowable in the project budget
oExplain in detail all direct cost which you foresee such as photocopying, supplies, data entry and so forth
oA proposed budget on how you will use the $15,000 award

If chosen as one of the five finalists of the “THE ENGAGING RACE”
•You must maintain a blog of all your experiences
•You must update your blog minimum of three times a week ( the more robust your blog is the better your chance of winning
•Post your initial phase proposal on your blog
•Post the Grand -Final proposal on your blog ( May 30, 2009)
•Post pictures of your mentor and anybody else on the Web site
